As a plant physiologist, my fascination lies in understanding how plants absorb their "food" or nutrients from their roots, particularly through their longstanding partnership with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. This symbiosis is akin to a human relationship, complete with communication, exchange, and even disagreements. However, unlike human interactions, these plant-fungi exchanges are invisible to the naked eye. To unveil this hidden realm, I turn to microscopy, a tool that allows me to peek into this secret world and satisfy my curiosity with numerous questions.
I resonate with Sir Ken Robinson's perspective that "Teaching is a creative profession, not a delivery system." In my classroom, I strive to be more than just an instructor; I aim to be a creative team leader, guiding and supporting my students as we collectively pursue our educational objectives. As a mentor, I recognize and value the uniqueness of each student - their backgrounds, thought processes, and aspirations for their future careers. My goal is to foster a sense of belonging in my class for every individual and to support my students in discovering their passions and turning their dreams into reality. |
